Months of the year in Spanish and French
Months are lower case in both languages, and both use them without an article in ordinary sentences. That is why the sheets here print enero and janvier, never el enero or le janvier.
The words
| English | Spanish | French |
|---|---|---|
| January | enero | janvier |
| February | febrero | février |
| March | marzo | mars |
| April | abril | avril |
| May | mayo | mai |
| June | junio | juin |
| July | julio | juillet |
| August | agosto | août |
| September | septiembre | septembre |
| October | octubre | octobre |
| November | noviembre | novembre |
| December | diciembre | décembre |
Where two forms are given, both are standard in different regions and both are marked right on the answer keys. Every word is checked in two dictionaries: how we check.

Word search, bingo, crossword, matching or flashcards, with a separate answer key.
Spanish: en enero, el 3 de mayo
In a month is en: en enero. A date puts the article before the number: el 3 de mayo.
Septiembre is the usual spelling; the RAE also accepts setiembre.
French: en janvier, le 3 mai
In a month is en or au mois de: en janvier, au mois d'août.
Dates take le before the number and no de: le 3 mai. The first of the month is le premier: le 1er juillet.
In the classroom
Twelve months fill a 3 by 3 bingo card with words to spare, and a crossword works well because the names cross on shared letters. A birthday-month class survey is a natural follow-up.
