Crossword maker for language classes
English clues, answers in the language, and a new layout every time you generate. The answers go into the grid without their article; the key gives each word with it.

How the clues work
Each clue is the English meaning, or a picture where the word has one, with the number of letters. Pupils have to produce the word, which makes a crossword a better test of recall than a word search.
Words with two parts, such as pomme de terre, are written without spaces, as in printed crosswords.
Good for the end of a topic
Eight to fifteen words per crossword. A topic needs at least eight words, so the shortest lists (the seven days, the four seasons) work better as word searches.
